I met this woman a couple weeks ago sitting outside my local grocery store - Lucky on Sloat in the Sunset. I sat down to eat an apple and listened to this lively, seemingly homeless, woman chat up a mother and daughter. They were on familiar terms - the homeless-ish woman even insisted that the woman take her scarf. Seems she knits them all the time.
She had a video camera and I couldn't resist asking what she was shooting. We talked about the film she's been working on for 10 years, A Ghost In Golden Gate Park. Sadly, the all the footage has been, uh, taken. "Someone else got it," she says.
Other topics touched upon: The Digital Television Transition and Safety Act, Broadcast TV vs. YouTube, her TV show on Channel 29 and an engine she had that apparently blew up.
She claims that the SF Bicycle Coalition knows all the haunted ghosts spots in town and gives tours, but I was unable to confirm that on the organization's website. And while Channel 29 certainly exists, I didn't see anyone down for her alleged 3pm, Saturday slot. Sadly.
I was shooting on my Canon Elph and the 1GB card filled up quickly - coverage cuts off abruptly. What you don't see is our chat about Aspen Park, Colorado - her old hometown. I talked about how expensive it was up there and that it was too bad that I wouldn't be able to afford anything time soon.
She pulled out a couple dollars from her ragged coat and offered them to me. "Well, at least get a cup of coffee."

Excuse the 18-wheeler's reverse beeps. It clears up.
Oh that is so sweet, her face alone tells so many tales. I LOVE stories like that, makes me warm and mushy...
