Hennegan Brothers Films - Buy This Hat!

Picture_5I wrote about the Hennegan Brothers and their award-winning documentary THE FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY a few weeks ago.

Well, the first Saturday in May is in a few days so I'd like to take a few moments to remind everyone that their hair looks like shit and they should be wearing a hat. Besides the fact that that doesn't make sense, you can also buy t-shirts and DVDs. And that makes sense, eh hombre? Or does it?  From their email (edited for space).

Who Is Christopher Smith?

Profile_picture_question_markI made this video a couple years ago as an attempt to get a job at Current TV. While I never did hear back from Current, the video did land me two interviews at other companies (or so I was told).

And now I include it in many of my job applications - if for no other reason than to stand out just a smidgen.

Who is Christopher Smith?

Eric Elkins Pages William Gibson

JdatemugCheck out Eric's account of his near-Gibson experience posted on the Examiner today. I don't know what an "Online Communities Examiner" does or how one earns such a title, but here Eric is slanging the 2.0 schtick like a Valley pro. I'd hire him.

I embrace my addiction to being connected. I’m sure it’s a pathology fully explainable by some sort of pattern in my upbringing, maybe some chthonic vestigial compulsion stemming from trauma in my teen years, but I’m not going to worry about it. My compulsion to stay connected with the Cloud, via text, email, voice, blog, forum or whatever, enhances my ability to advise and consult and to stay informed.

Lamar in The Karate Kid?

Picture_7 I had the extreme good fortune to catch the tail-end of The Karate Kid a few days ago. Now, I've watched that movie about 14 times and the final fight montage is an absolute classic.

I am stunned that I missed this extraordinary highlight: Lamar. Freakin' Lamar.

Watch the montage, the :39 mark. I almost didn't recognize him without the javelin.
