I've been moving around the country/world for about a decade now. Venice Beach, California, New Zealand, Annapolis, Maryland, Boulder, Colorado, Denver, Colorado, Breckenridge, Colorado, San Francisco, California, Roanoke, Virginia... and all sorts of odd skips here and there (Idaho, wtf?). But through it all I have managed to keep hold of all of my CDs. While not as impressive in quantity as some, they are a damn good collection and a crisp reflection of where I have been musically over the last couple decades or so.
My stuff has been in storage in Colorado for almost three years or so. And in there were my CDs. I was finally able to go through everything I owned (or at least still owned) and piece the collection back together. Cases were empty, discs were in Windows 2000 cases, several CDs were just floating around in the box without a home and some cases had 2-3 CDs in them. It was a mess. Hours later, I had the tally. I was missing a few. About 20 actually. And they were all good. The biggest loses were my original Smashing Pumpkins 'Gish' CD from when they were still on Caroline. Another hit was my Misfits 'Walk Among Us' from their Ruby Records days. The full list is below - although I know I forgotten dozens... feel free to replace them for me.
Misfits - Walk Among Us - Ruby Records
Compilation - Arabian Travels - Six Degrees Records
Bad Religion - Recipe For Hate - Epitaph
No Motiv - And the Sadness Prevails - Vagrant Records
Bad Religion - Stranger Than Fiction - Atlantic Records
DJ Cam - Loa Project - Six Degrees
Manitoba - Start Breaking My Heart - The Leaf Lable
Smashing Pumpkins - Gish - Caroline
Radiohead - Kid A - Capitol
Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People - Matador
Pixies - Trompe Le Monde - Elektra
The Avalanches - Since I Left You - Sire
Ride - Smile - Sire/Reprise
The Books - The Lemon of Pink - Tomlab

The highlight, however, is that I still have my original case/CD of Pixies - Surfer Rosa. To be sure, it is not in the best shape (it made it through a tough week at Randy's beach house) but you can still listen.
